i trespassed through a few backyards of a nearby retirement village to get some shots of this A M A Z I N G magnolia tree! i asked God, "Don't you think You went a little over the top with this one?" man! incredible huge saturated magenta blooms....and the sprawling branches were loaded with them! those briliantly colored petals against the deep blue sky made for some visual excitement!!!
a little elderly woman must have been watching me from inside her house. she came out to share in my glee. she and i had a great talk about the spectacular handiwork of God.
today i have a rare head and heart juncture that sends me reeling!!
i need to reclaim the power of the word AWESOME and relegate it to the One who truly is!! this pure essence of praise that originates from my soul infiltrates every chamber of my brain with its marvelous perfume.
i will join the song that spring began and belt it from the depths of my lungs!
and try not to alarm the old people....

I think you're right. The word "awesome" is used way too often on far too ordinaray things. I try to reseve the word for the honestly awe-inspiring things of life. Things that take my breath and remind me who's really in charge here. ;) The photo is beautiful by the way. Spring is gorgeous ... I just wish the pollen didn't make my head hurt. hehe!
Jaki - saw your photo in God's Art. Your thoughts here reflect why I can't put the camera down..so much beauty everywhere! Thanks for your thoughts here.
