Glenda's Soup

Soup Kitchen, originally uploaded by glenda.suebee.

my precious friend glenda visited me yesterday and brought me a quart of homemade chicken vegetable soup. it was undoubtedly the best soup i've ever eaten!! i'm not kidding! i savored every bite and was sorry when it was gone!
if glenda opened a soup bistro here in waverly - i'd be a frequent customer - of course i'd get a double benefit of getting to see her too!
i know i tend to exaggerate and have a flair for the dramatic - BUT this soup is to die for!
she handmashes potatoes and sweet potatoes which gives the soup a wonderful, slightly sweet flavor, and makes it more filling and hearty. i'm not a big meat eater - but the little chunks of chicken were tender and delectable. i liked how there was just a hint of chicken.
she included her recipe on her blog today - it's one of those recipes that makes you hungry just reading it!!

thank God for taste buds
thank God for good food
thank God for sweet friends

Thanks, Jaki, for the high praise on the soup. Sure hope it helped a bit to speed up your recovery. That mix of vegetables tends to get the body functions back to optimal working condition, especially after surgery. With zero temps, I may have to get the Songbird Bistro back up and running this weekend. Quilting or cooking? We'll see.
