these are my best images on flickr......at least according to the flickr photo folks....

i love being a part of flickr - a photography community and forum. i have posted at least one image to flickr nearly every day since july 2005. i have learned valuable lessons from viewing the works of some tremendous photographers (from all over the world) and from receiving critiques and advice from them as well. just developing the habit of posting a photo everyday forces one to improve.
flickr, who has millions and millions of members, awards the "top 500 images of the day"....it's called EXPLORE.
when you see *Explore/Interestingness* below an image on my flickr photostream, it means it made the Explore list for the date posted.
i have an Explore set that contains all the images that i know of that have been in Explore. there are 439 of them.

the 108 images shown above appear in EXPLORE as of today.
it changes daily...i've had images at the #1 rank only to fall out of EXPLORE completely weeks later. no one really knows what formula is used to determine the prestigious list. it has something to do with # of views/favorites/etc.

i don't agree with all of these in this collection. some aren't that great - and yet some of my favorite images didn't make the Explore list at all. I've noticed that portraits don't fare as well on Explore as do nature images, like birds and butterflies. when one of my portraits makes the Explore list, I am very pleased.
