a girl i know from my hometown named trudy was recently diagnosed with breast cancer - the invasive type..... she has to have a mastectomy and chemotherapy, like i did 4 years ago. i have been praying for her but haven't been able to talk with her face to face to offer encouragement and advice.
this past monday while vacationing in rhode island, my family took a ferry ride out to block island. while on the upper deck, waiting for the rest of the passengers to load - i remembered the last time i took this ferry ride i was still suffering from the effects of 7 mos of strong chemotherapy and multiple surgeries and i paused right then and there and thanked God for seeing me through that dark valley - and that brought trudy again to my mind. ..and i asked God to give me the right words to say to her once we get together. i opened my eyes just as the ferry began to move and saw this image -
a boat entitled miss trudy and right behind it, another larger boat entitled perseverance.
God had given me the message He wanted me to relate to trudy.
friends - it's amazing that God is so intricately involved in our lives! it brings me much comfort and peace.
i don't think trudy looks at my flickr site or even knows about it - but trudy & perseverance go hand in hand and i will let her know.
